Legacy APFT information

APFT Calculator

The APFT was the legacy Army Physical Fitness Test built around push-ups, sit-ups, and a two-mile run. This page is a historical guide, not a live calculator.

Why there is no APFT calculator here

This MVP does not include live APFT scoring because the project has not yet extracted and validated official APFT score tables. Current Army PT scoring uses the AFT calculator on the homepage.

What Was The APFT?

APFT stands for Army Physical Fitness Test. It was the Army's older physical fitness assessment before later test formats such as the ACFT and the current AFT.

Current Army PT

Current Army PT scoring uses the AFT. Use the homepage calculator for the current five-event score.

Legacy events

APFT Events

The APFT used three events. This page summarizes the format without publishing unverified APFT score tables.

Push-Up

The APFT push-up event measured upper-body muscular endurance during a timed repetition event.

Sit-Up

The APFT sit-up event measured abdominal and hip-flexor endurance during a timed repetition event.

Two-Mile Run

The APFT two-mile run measured aerobic endurance and was scored by completion time.

Current vs legacy

APFT vs ACFT vs AFT

Army fitness testing changed over time. APFT is legacy information, ACFT is a legacy six-event calculator on this site, and AFT is the current Army PT test used for current scoring.

Scoring note

APFT Score Tables Are Not Included Yet

APFT scoring depended on age, sex, repetitions, and run time. Before adding a live APFT calculator, the project needs the same level of official-source validation already used for AFT and ACFT scoring data.
